A women’s shelter: protection against violence and exploitation
The domestic violence to which women and children are subjected has increased considerably. The causes can be found in the men’s war-experiences, which have failed to be assimilated, as well as in the socially and economically precarious living conditions.
During their stay at the women's shelter, it is also very important that children of victims of violence have specific therapies and activities offered to them. These children often suffer from similar symptoms as their mothers.
More and more women and their children are exposed to domestic violence and seek protection in a “safe-house”. Our partner organisation "Buducnost" runs such a house for battered women where, with their children, they can seek refuge when their home-life becomes unbearable. Professional support is provided to enable them to find new life-solutions.
