From December 10th to 15th, we celebrate our 45th anniversary with a photo exhibition at the Kaserne Basel.

It all started with an online team workshop facilitated by a Berlin-based association for power-critical education and counselling. In two 5-hour sessions, they encouraged us to explore the colonial premises that structure our working environment.

The Invisible Threat: Combatting the rise of domestic violence during the pandemic in Albania.

Together with about 120 other Swiss non-governmental organisations, IAMANEH Switzerland supports the Swiss Coaltion for Corporate Justice.

In Dakar suburbs, prevention is a burning issue. For young people, contraceptives are hard to get. But a very dynamic small group of three young men has developed a way for their peers to access contraceptives very discreetly. Their initiative rose to become a broad movement within no time.

In March 2019, Senegal program manager Maja Hürlimann visited the project of our partner organisation Aprofes. She went to take a look at the progress of the project involving the so-called “hommes champions”, and she was deeply impressed.

In the past year, we have worked intensively on the development of our programmes, with an increased focus on the theme of combating violence, as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Offender programmes are important elements of an integrated and comprehensive approach in the prevention of and fight against violence against women.

Our team has recently been strengthened by the addition of new colleagues in Ouagadougou and Sarajevo. Their role will be to intensify the joint work with our partner organisations there.

The members of IAMANEH said farewell to Board Member Christoph Keller and welcomed Karin Mader and Osman Besic to the team.
