Opening night with an aperitif and a DJ set by Taliesin
In a swiss village in Valais, Jule, a single mother, risks everything to give her children a better life. Jasmin Gordon paints a portrait of a nonconformist mother who fights proudly, unwaveringly and unpredictably against a system that perpetuates her precarious situation. A moving story that addresses poverty in a country known above all for its prosperity and challenges our notions of justice, morality, and motherhood.
In Switzerland, political and institutional frameworks, such as short parental leave, highlight existing inequalities and the lack of recognition for care work. What would change if care was understood as a shared responsibility? After the film, we’ll shift perspectives with Simona Isler (Büro für Feminismus) and discuss feminist economy. We’ll explore how a society could be organized in which care work goes hand in hand with time, support, appreciation, and financial security.
